WHERE IT ALL BEGAN

Our story began in Heilbronn, Germany, within the historic walls of Wharton Barracks, where two young souls in uniform crossed paths while serving in the U.S. Army. What started as camaraderie quickly blossomed into something deeper, a connection rooted in respect, laughter, and shared purpose.

FIRST STEPS, FIRST ADVENTURES

Our first trip together was to Paris, France—a city of lights, love, and timeless romance. It was there, wandering Cobblestone streets and sipping coffee beneath the Eiffel Tower, that we began to dream of a life built together.

A LIFETIME OF LOVE

We married on January 8, 1982, sealing our bond with vows that have carried us through decades of joy, growth, and grace. But our love story began even earlier—with the birth of our first son, Dante McKay, in 1980, followed by our beautiful daughters, Qiana in 1982 and Portia McKay in 1987.

OUR GREATEST LEGACY

Family is our heartbeat. We've been blessed with eight extraordinary grandchildren: Tiana, Ja'Niyah, Daniele, Jaylin, Jayden, Dante, Qimorah, and Alfredo—each one a radiant thread in the tapestry of our lives. Then Shaimekah Reese McKay - our cherished daughter-in-love, our joy, and the greatest gift that love has ever given us.

A LIFE WELL-LOVED

Now retired, we spend our days traveling, gardening, and sharing laughter with family and friends. Whether exploring new corners of the world or tending to roses in our backyard, we do it all hand in hand, with hearts still dancing to the rhythm of love.
